Guatemala Mudslides

1. Natural factors that caused mudslides in Guatemala is that because of frequent earthquakes, hurricanes and heavy rains oversaturate Guatemala's mountainous terrain and muddy the soil.
2. Human factors that caused mudslides in Guatemala is that Quote "Trees are cut for firewood and to make room for the crops, and without realizing it ... they've taken away their protection. Where it used to be rain forest becomes an open space for the mud to come right on through." And every year nearly 373 square kilometers of trees are destroyed each year in Guatemala
3.What did they do to help reduce the mudslides? They planted trees and help them create a protection if there was another mudslide. Without Trees there would be more room and would be a faster way for mudslides to make it's way towards the village.
